CFB Esquimalt Naval & Military Museum is pleased to announce its publication of Audrey Sim Shortridge's book On the Double, Matilda!
The book is one woman's account of her experiences in the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS) during WWII, and her journey to independence.
Audrey's reminiscences about basic trainijng at HMCS Conestoga in Ontario, and caring for patients at HMCS Avalon in Newfoundland represent a welcome addition to existing knowledge of the WRCNS.
