The CFB (Canadian Forces Base) Esquimalt Naval & Military Museum is located on Canada's West Coast on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It is situated in the community of Esquimalt, nearby downtown Victoria, on CFB Esquimalt.
The most popular way of travelling to Vancouver Island is by ferry. There are several ferry services that can get you to the lower part of Vancouver Island. The major ferry service for this area is BC Ferries which has frequent scheduled sailings for car, bus, and foot passengers between Tsawwassen, just south of Vancouver on the BC mainland, and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island, nearby Sidney and about 30 minutes north of Victoria. Pacific Coach Lines offers bus service between Vancouver and Victoria via this BC Ferry route.
Other ferries offering daily service include: Blackball Transport sailing between Port Angeles, Washington and Victoria harbour; Washington State Ferries sailing between Anacortes, Washington and Sidney; and Victoria Clipper,for foot passengers only, sailing between Seattle harbour and Victoria harbour.

Leave downtown Victoria by the Johnston Street Bridge; this bridge can be approached along Pandora, Wharf, or Store Street. This will take you directly on to Esquimalt Road. Proceed along Esquimalt Road until you reach Admirals Road. Turn right on Admirals and travel a short distance (about 300 meters) till you reach the first traffic light where you will turn left to the main gate on to CFB Esquimalt. Once inside the base, signs and markings on the roadway will lead you to the museum's parking lot.
Travel time from downtown Victoria to the museum by car is approximately 10 minutes. Allow about 20 minutes if you are travelling by bicycle.
The Victoria Regional Transit System, local public transportation, offers bus frequent bus service that can take you from downtown Victoria to just outside the main gate of CFB Esquimalt. Allow about 5 minutes walk from the main gate to the museum.
